1943, PRISONER OF WAR MAlL. BURMA THAI RAILWAY. Stampless envelope endorsed 'Prisoner of War Post/Service des Prisonniers de Guerre' written by Driver Hill 's parents in Putney dated 'Feb 14th 43' addressed to 'Driver Hill, 54th lnfantry Brigade, R.A.S.C. Malaya, British Prisoner of War, c/o Japanese Red Cross Tokyo' with 'Opened by Examiner 7822' censor label and endorsed in manuscript 'OVL 18/6/42' indicating Driver Hill had been sent to Burma or Thailand. The envelope has a framed hand-stamp in violet reading 'Tai Fu Hon/Ken'etsuzumi' (Thai POW HQ) and censored by "Motojima" in violet. The enclosed letter is endorsed 'N.P.T. 30/1/45' indicating when the envelope was received at Non Pladuk by Driver Wes Hill. The "Motojima" censor in violet is only recorded by David Tett on one other incoming cover dated '27/9/43'.
This Lot is under the margin tax system (§25a UStG). The VAT (MWSt) is not displayed seperate on the bill.

In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
