1954 AIR CRASH COVER 1954 (13 March) cover from Timaru to London bearing KGVI 6d plus 1s tied by "ROAD THOUGHT / SAFETY FIRST" slogan cancel, which was recovered from the wreck of the B.O.A.C. flight from Sydney to London which crashed at Kallang Airport at Singapore, and caught fire killing 32 passengers and a crew member. With fine "SALVAGED MAIL / AIRCRAFT CRASH / SINGAPORE 13 MAR 1954" boxed cachet in red applied, with clear scorch marks to the left, and with original typed letter contents inside.
