1881 - 1897 UNIQUE "SPECIMEN" HANDSTAMPS. A group of 8 stamps each with a violet "SPECIMEN" handstamp as applied by the Natal Post Office on receipt from the UPU which it joined in 1892. Each affixed to a portion of the Natal record book and often with small faults, we see the 1881 1s brown (SG 64), 1882 5s dull red and black (SG 69) these two on separate pieces which can be rejoined, 1892 5d on 4d (SG 73) and a range of five "VR" definitives to 2½d (SG 39, 40, 44, 45 & 103) accompanied by 4 BPA certificates for all stamps (8 stamps) For more images, please visit https://www.sandafayre.com/itemdetails.aspx?s=644394
