1960 TO 2006 BURMA / MYANMAR POSTAL HISTORY, A UNIQUE COLLECTION. With no philatelic bureau and stamp clubs having been prohibited since 1966 (the government being one of the world's most repressive dictatorships since 1962, which treats most information as a state secret and forbids its citizens to publish anything without prior state approval) this collection is a triumph of research! Beautifully displayed in 11 albums a collection of around 600 covers written-up on album pages and arranged by Post Office from Ahlore, Airport PO, Akyab, Amarapura & Aunglan through to Waingmaw, Waw, Yamethin, Yangon, Yankin,Yedashe, Yenangyaung, Yongyi & Zegyo. There are probably more Myanmar stamp frankings than Burmese and they all appear to have been selected not only for their readable postmarks but for their attractive multi-stamp frankings and each cover is accompanied by a brief, knowledgeable write-up. There are reportedly over 600 different Post Offices in Myanmar and we believe almost half of them must be represented here.
