1856 4c black / magenta Provisional stamp (SG 24) with initials of postal clerk Watson "CAW", cut octagonally and used on cover, cancelled by Demerara datestamp of MR 17 1856 with matching strike on reverse. Sent to Sophia's Hope Estate in Mahaicony, from the Barlow correspondence. The stamp repainted in places (which is normal, untouched stamps being the exception and not the rule).
