Württemberg große Königliche Messing-Siegeldose von FRIEDRICH WILHELM KARL VON WÜRTTEMBERG (1754-1816) auch "Dicker Friedrich" genannt, diese ist mit seinem Monogramm "F.R" (Friedrich Rex 1806-16) graviert. Dose: 115 mm. Solche Messingdosen wurden NUR FÜR SEHR WICHTIGE KÖNIGLICHE BRIEFE VERWANDT die naturgemäß besonders feierlich waren. Daher ist diese auch so prachtvoll und üppig gestaltet. SIE STELLEN GROßE RARITÄTEN DAR. Das Landesarchiv Baden-Württemberg präsentiert auf seiner Webseite keine Siegeldose von Friedrich Wilhelm, es zeigt jedoch eine vom Kaiser Franz dem II (1803).

Friedrich Wilhelm Karl von Württemberg (* 6. November 1754 in Treptow an der Rega in Hinterpommern; ? 30. Oktober 1816 in Stuttgart) war ab 1797 als Friedrich II. Herzog, von 1803 bis 1806 Kurfürst und von 1806 bis 1816 als Friedrich I. der erste König von Württemberg. Wegen seiner Körpergröße und seiner gewaltigen Leibesfülle wurde er auch Dicker Friedrich genannt, wegen seines absolutistisch-autoritären Regierungsstils zudem schwäbischer Zar.

Christoph Gärtner made his hobby into his profession. He started in 1984 and within two decades the Gärtner GmbH developed into a world leading mail order house for postal stationery and became a specialist for thematics and postal history.
In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
