1865. Envelope (part backflap missing) addressed to France bearing French General Colonies Yvert 3, 10c bistre (pair) and Yvert 5, 40c orange tied by dotted lozenge with adjacent 'Etabs. Fr. De L'Inde/Pondichery' date stamp '6th Aout 65' endorsed 'Messageries Imperiales' with boxed 'PD' and octagonal French entry cachet 'Etab. F. Inde Paq. F. Amb. Mars./2' in red '5 Sept' (Salles 1886) with Toulouse receiver on reverse. Very fine 1st issue French General Colonies ‘Eagle' issue from the French Settlement in Pondichery.

In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
