POSTMARKS OF THE 19TH CENTURY COLLECTION. A beautiful collection of chiefly Pyramid stamps (with some additional Postage Dues, Revenue stamps and postal stationery impressions) each selected for its very fine & attractive readable circular datestamp. Arranged by Post Office in 2 albums with volume I covering cancellation dates between 1865 - 1879 and volume II covering dates from 1880 to the mid-1890's. Volume I (approx 550 items) ranges from Abu Hommes, Alessandria, Alessandria Stazione, Assuan, Atfe, Benha, Benishef, Bilbes, Bulah Dacruv through to Uffizio Natante (a maritime floating office datestamp), also 'used abroad' stamps (13) from Metelino, Bairout, Mersina & Smirne with a wide range of different stamps and each cancellation with the Peter Smith rarity rating points noted alongside; Volume II (260+ items) from Aba El-Wafk, Aba El- Choukouk, Abou- Hammad, Abour- Hommes, Abou- Kebir through to Tala, Tema, Wardan, Zifte (in black and in blue) including a number of blue and red cancellations.
