1879, large dragon thin paper 1 Ca. green, a right margin copy (cliche 20) and 5 Ca. yellow, a horizontal pair with right margin (ciche 14/15) both canc. small size oval intaglio seal of Tientsin also tied by faint red "CUSTOMS SHANGHAI" with "CUSTOMS TIENTSIN MAY 9 79" alongside and transit mark "HONG KONG C MY 17 79" on reverse of a cover (reverse side only), ostensibly addressed to foreign. This is the 4th earliest recorded foreign (part-) cover of China. Reference: James B. Whang, A comprehensive illustration on cover of Chinese Large dragons (1997), pp. 73/74, Nr. 18.

In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
