1877 DESTINATION JAPAN: Envelope from Buenos Aires to Kagoshima, Japan via Yokohama, franked by 1877 8c. lake tied by boxed "BUENOS AIRES O.M/8 OCT (?) 77" datestamp, and franked by French 1876 20c. red-brown/yellowish, Type I, two strips of three tied by octagonal Buenos Aires Paquebot No. 2 '8 August 1877' datestamp, with red "YOKOHAMA PAID ALL/OCT/30" double-ring d/s alongside, Japanese transit and arrival datestamps on the reverse. The cover was carried by the s/s "Equateur" to Bordeaux, and transferred in Marseilles to the line to Yokohama. One of the French adhesives (at top) with few perf faults otherwise fine. A MOST ATTRACTIVE COVER WITH A TWO-COUNTRIES FRANKING, AND A SCARCE DESTINATION. ÷ 1877 DESTINO JAPÓN: Sobre de Buenos Aires, del 8 de agosto de 1877, a Kagoshima. Sellos de Argentina 8c. (Yv 33), con matasello Buenos Aires OM, y Francia Yv 67, doble tira de 3, con fechador octogonal del Vapor EQUATEUR, JNo 2 tránsito Burdeos, transferida a la línea Marsella-Yokohama con llegada a ese puerto en el frente. Tránsitos y llegada al dorso. PIEZA EXCEPCIONAL.
