1869 Quadruple rate cover from Buenos Aires to London via Belgium by the packet SS "City of Rio de Janeiro", with the "CONF. ARG. PAQ. BELGE/22 AOUT 69" double-ring datestamp on the reverse, applied at Antwerp transit, franked by pair and two singles of Argentinean 1868 5c. vermilion tied by Buenos Aires '17 JUL 69' cds, with British rate "2/-" in m/s and London arrival cds. Cover with tape stains on back otherwise fine. ÷ 1869 Carta completa de cuarto portes del 17 de julio de 1869, a Londres. Sellos de Argentina 5c. pareja y 2 sellos, con matasello fechador Buenos Aires S, transportada por Vapor CITY OF RIO DE JANEIRO vía Amberes con tasa manuscrita británica 2/- y matasello de llegada al dorso. Durante el tránsito en Amberes se colocó la marca fechador CONF. ARG. PAQ. BELGE (24 de agosto de 1869). Marcas de cinta adhesiva en la carta.

Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
