Collector's item but in fair condition. Worn covers with rubbed edges, thumb dents on spine, and beginning to pull from staples and almost detached. Mildly yellowed text. Mailing label on back. Illustrated with graphic design, layout and paper quality similar to The Nation. The inaugural issue of the long-running libertarian socialist magazine. Its name was later changed to 'Z' Magazine in 1989. Associated with South End Press. 96 pages. ISSN 08961328. Premier issue of this 31 year old radical magazine from January 1987. Plus a 16 page prospectus. The prospectus was mailed to subscribers of The Nation magazine. Contains description of goals, detailed listing on (planned) contributors with photographs, illustrations by Matt Werker and more. Condition is good, the black ink background along the spine margin has rubbed off, paper clip impression in top edge, mild general wear otherwise, mailing label on back cover, does not include order form with the booklet.
