Italy, Scott #386 (Sassone #425), used (o), 1937, Celebrating the two-thousandth Bimillenary of the Birth of Italian Emperor Augustus Caesar ( formally: Octavianus), on the occasion of an Exhibit opened by Il Duce Benito Mussolini, stamp shows the Capitol of Rome, and the words: ‘Lavrvm de Fascitvs deposvi in Capitolio votis solvtis’ ("I laid down the Laurels of Fascim a the Capitol and all Pledged their Vows of Loyalty ), (12.55+2) lira, perforated: 14¼x14, photogravure printed, watermarked: crown (Scott watermark #140, Sassone filigrana: corona), slate black, Scott 2019 catalog value: $300.00. Considerably off-centered (fine), quarter-to-half circular, black-inked, double-rimmed,, socked-on-the-nose cancellation over the bottom right quarter of the stamp with largely complete mailing details {Trieste, November 12th, 1937}, with all largely clear of the central image, sound back with Carraro backsign, good perforations; stamp comes with a 2 April 2024 review and certification by Diego Carraro, of Milan, Italy, which is included and shown; centering, image clear cancel, mailing details cancel, and reputable certification warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch' offering. The stamp you see will be the stamp you receive.
