The design of the Menora on the Coat of Arms of the State of Israel - as depicted on the stamp - is based on the scene from Titus´ Arch in Rome, depicting the theft of the Menorah...

The Hebrew writing on the back of the sheet tells the story of the first adhesive stamp - the Penny Black...

This is the third printing of this sheet and it is marked with three candelabras above the top left stamp...
