1872 NAVAL OFFICES COVER. 1872 (15-17 Feb) a lengthy personal letter on two sheets of "HMS Seagull" letterhead, written "Cape Coast" on Monday 15th and Wednesday 17th with interesting contents including the movements of the ship engaging in anti- slavery activities along the West Coast of Africa, living conditions, the local natives etc. The env with matching HMS Seagull crest on the flap, addressed to Mrs Druitt of Mayfair, London with GB 6d stamp attached and pen- tied with red London Paid datestamp of 4th March 1872.
