BOER WAR 1900 COVER & LETTER, franked Natal 1d with clear strike of "Southampton Packet Letter FE 2 00" c.d.s. The letter contains some interesting social history, being written to the mother of a soldier, it reads, "I received your letter of 24th November last and as requested sent a plum pudding to your son at his camp..." It continues, "We here... recognise that whilst other volunteers have their relatives to think of them, your son has none in this country..." Some minor faults on env., letter clean & fine (2 items).
