FERNANDO PESSOA. Portuguese poet. He spent his childhood and youth
in the Republic of South Africa and began law studies at the
University of the Cape, and returned to Lisbon in 1905. He started
his literary in English, although from 1908 grew her interest in
the Portuguese language. His work is one of the most original of
Portuguese literature and was, along with Sa Carneiro, one of the
introducers in their country of the avant-garde movements.
CRUZ E SOUSA. 1861: Birth of John of the cross in our Lady of the
exile (now Florianópolis, capital of Santa Catarina), on 24
November. Son of William cross, master Mason, and Eva Carolina da
Conceição, washerwoman, both blacks and slaves, freed by his
master, Colonel William Xavier de Sousa. Coronel, Juan received the
surname of the child and protection, after having lived in child in
his solar creation. -1869: At the age of eight, he recites his
poems in honour of its Patron Saint, returning, promoted to
marshal, the Paraguay war. -1871: Enrollment in the Ateneo
Provincial Catarinense, where he studied until the end of 1875,
after having learned French, English, latin, Greek, mathematics and
natural sciences. The last discipline was taught by the German
naturalist Fritz Müller, friend and collaborator of Darwin and
Haeckel. In addition to the words of his friend Virgilio Várzea:
"He distinguished himself above all its associates", anti-racist
grossed Cruz e Sousa praise from Fritz Müller, whom the

amo, el coronel William Xavier de Sousa. Coronel, Juan recibió el
apellido del niño y protección, después de haber vivido de niño en
su creación solar. - 1869: A la edad de ocho años, recita sus
poemas en honor de su patrona, volviendo, ascendido a Mariscal, la
guerra del Paraguay. - 1871: La inscripción en el Ateneo Provincial
Catarinense, donde estudió hasta el final de 1875, después de haber
aprendido el francés, Inglés, latín, griego, matemáticas y ciencias
naturales. La última disciplina fue enseñada por su naturalista
alemán Fritz Müller, amigo y colaborador de Darwin y Haeckel.

por encima de todos sus asociados", recaudó Cruz e Sousa elogios de
