Audenaerde était surtout connue pour cela, mais il y avait aussi des centres bien connus à Bruges et à Bruxelles et dans une moindre mesure à Anvers, Gand, Louvain et Malines. Dans cet ouvrage, 13 spécialistes fournissent un état de la connaissance de ces tapisseries et, en particulier, sur la façon dont les fabricants flamands se sont répandus dans toute l'Europe et ont formé la base de nouveaux centres de production, notamment aux Pays-Bas, en Angleterre, en France et en Italie.
